Karen Fernandez-Cosgrove, Ph.D., LMFT, P.C.
Hi I am Karen Fernandez-Cosgrove and I am the owner of Karen Fernandez-Cosgrove, Ph.D., LMFT. P.C. I have over 20 years of therapeutic experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I also supervise therapists at varying stages of their careers. I earned my Ph.D. from Syracuse University in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have extensive therapeutic experience working with individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with multiple issues including relationship issues, infidelity, anxiety, life transitions, grief, infertility, and eating disorders. I also work with individuals and couples from racially diverse backgrounds, same sex partners, and the LGBT population.
I am an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy ( AAMMFT) Approved Supervisor and have supervised Graduate Students at the Syracuse University Marriage and Family Therapy Program. I have also supervised Syracuse University Counseling and Human Service’s student interns at the Syracuse University Counseling Center. In Addition, I continue to supervise graduate students at several different internship sites and provide AAMFT approved supervisor for supervisor mentors. I am also a Clinical Member of AAMFT.
My greatest strength is providing a safe environment where a trusting therapeutic relationship can develop in order to explore difficult issues. I provide a sensitive, direct, and non-judgmental approach to help my clients explore these issues and to empower them to reach their highest goals and desires in life
